About Imogen Emmett

London-based classical harpist ready to tailor my service around the bespoke needs of your event.
Harpist
London

Imogen has played the harp for 18 years, studying Music at Oxford University, Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She is an experienced performer who has played at many major venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican, Birmingham Symphony Hall, and Cadogan Hall. While classically trained, she enjoys a diverse range of genres (she wrote her Masters dissertation on Taylor Swift!). Since beginning her events-based work, she has discovered a passion for arranging non-classical songs for the harp to bring the best sound out of the instrument. When she is not playing the harp, she works part-time as a Supervisor at a major London theatre. Logistics, organisation, and communication are day-to-day parts of her life, making her a reliable and well-prepared performer. Fun fact: The most memorable event Imogen has played for was her grandma's funeral where she created her own arrangement of 'Tomorrow' from Annie as tribute to her.

Imogen was absolutely brilliant on our special day. The quality was outstanding and so many people commented on how fantastic she was with a mixture of contemporary and classical music. Her performing as my now wife walked down the aisle is a memory I will cherish forever. Imogen was a consummate professional and attentive to our needs on the day. Would highly recommend her services!

Imogen was brilliant at my son’s wedding recently. She’s a very talented harpist. Everyone commented how lovely it was to have had Imogen play for us. She has a wide variety of music to choose from. Her communication from the beginning was excellent and she even asked what everyone was wearing so would dress appropriately! I recommend her highly!

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I treat all event timings with flexibility, as I know timings frequently need to be adjusted. If you give me as much notice as possible, I usually expect to be able to accommodate changes.

How much time do you need to set up?

In an ideal world, I'd love to have 20 minutes minimum to set up so that I can unpack properly, carefully tune my harp, and have a quick warm-up. If this time needs to be shorter, I can plan ahead to reduce this set up period if requested.

Is the transport of your harp included in your quote?

Yes!

Do you need any equipment provided to play outdoors?

As I play acoustically, I can happily play outside without any additional equipment. However, if it rains, I will need cover from the rain as my instrument is valuable and is damaged by water. If playing outside, I work with clients to develop a contingency plan in case of rain or other compromising weather.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes absolutely. I know music is incredibly personal and I really enjoy it when clients pick out songs that are meaningful to them. Equally, I am happy to select pieces myself with some guidance on what atmosphere you would like for your guests.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes, I love learning new music for events as music is so personal. I am continually adding new music to my set list so I am more than happy to fulfil bespoke requests at no additional cost.
