Laura has been playing the bagpipes for 30yrs, first learning at the young age of seven. Throughout those years much has happened. Pipe Major of The City Of York Pipe Band for thirteen years, Laura has taught many players across North Yorkshire. She has played solo at weddings, events, funerals, burns nights, birthdays and at care homes for many years . Most memorable occasions for Laura remain playing on stage with Rod Stewart, playing for Sir Richard Branson, opening a show for Eddie Reader in Barbados and also playing for members of River-dance. Laura is based in York and covers much of North Yorkshire; York, Hull, Scarborough, Bradford, Sheffield, Pontefract, Barnsley, Keighley, Scarborough, Whitby, Driffield, Leeds and surrounding areas, even travelling to Skegness on occasion. The pipes add a wonderful touch to any event and are sure to leave a memorable impression, often without a dry eye in the house!.

Laura was an absolute hit. Coming from Scotland, I’ve heard lots of solo pipers, but both myself and my guests all said the same thing - Laura is the best of the best! On Saturday 25th June this year me & my now husband Max got married and asked Laura to play at our wedding, she sent us some videos through of her recent work and had a chat about what we wanted, we wanted her to play at the church then at the following ceremony which meant travelling, Laura didn’t just make our expectations, she made our wedding day. We asked her to play a couple of particular songs which are very close to use and she did this to absolute perfection. She brought a tear to our eye, a lovely lady with an amazing talent. Right from the moment we first made contact with Laura she has been so professional and friendly throughout our whole planning stage. When our big day arrived, our guest and especially us were blown away with Laura’s talent!
